3 Ways to Use the Extra Hour of Sunlight in SLOCAL
Sunday, March 12th, we "spring forward" to find our days filled with another brilliant hour of sunshine. Once Daylight Savings Time takes effect on Sunday night at 2 AM, the sun won't set on the Central Coast until after 7 pm, giving us plenty of time after work or school to enjoy the great outdoors. We can't wait for long breezy days, endless beach afternoons, and gorgeous sunsets—so here are 3 Central Coast activities to enjoy this Spring as the days get longer and longer.
Hit the Trails at The Pismo Preserve
The Central Coast boasts miles of beautiful hiking and biking trails for experts and novices alike. Now that it's lighter longer, try one of the breathtaking trails at the newly opened Pismo Preserve—where 900 acres of open space boasting hiking, biking, and equestrian trails overlook the Pacific Ocean. The best part? Oceanfront accommodations at Pismo Lighthouse Suites and Shore Cliff Hotel are just a short walk away from the Pismo Preserve for when you're ready to relax after your hike. Whatever your experience level, there's a path for you on the Central Coast this Spring!

Savor the Sunset with Rooftop Cocktails
Until now, the only thing missing from Paso Robles' wine country wonderland was a rooftop perch to sit, sip, and savor the sprawling hillside views that brought you here in the first place. Located on top of downtown's newest boutique hotel, The Piccolo, Tetto brings the first and only rooftop bar experience to downtown Paso Robles. With craft cocktails, cozy firepit seating, and views of the tree-lined town square, Tetto is the perfect place to spend a beautiful Spring evening on the Central Coast. Tip: Opt for a refill as you watch the sun dip below the rolling hills of Paso Robles.

Take in the Ocean Breeze at Avila Beach
Soak up an extra hour of sunshine at our oceanfront pool at Avila Lighthouse Suites. While being just steps away from the shore and the sand, we offer the perfect spot to take a sunset stroll. If you are looking to grab a bite to eat, choose from many delicious options at local restaurants. No need to drive, the best thing about Avila is that there are amazing dining experiences in walking distance to our hotel. To end the night, enjoy a sweet treat from Hula Hut and cozy up by one of our outdoor firepits.
