How to Celebrate Fall in the Office
We’re a few weeks into fall, which means a couple of things. Summer’s over, the leaves are changing, the weather’s getting colder, and we’re gearing up for another busy year. Keep up morale and productivity in the office and celebrate the season with some fun activities and additions to the office! Some of our suggestions are perfect for team building, while others show employees that you appreciate their hard work. Here’s how to celebrate Fall in the office:
1. Plan a Fall-Themed Party
Plan a potluck, where every team member can bring their favorite traditionally “fall” dish – like pumpkin casserole, an apple pie, squash, green beans. Schedule it for lunch-time, throw some leaf decorations and pumpkins around the conference room, and you’re all set!
2. Carve Pumpkins
This is a fun way for team members to participate in the fall season at their leisure. Go out and get some pumpkins, and set up the break room for carving! Everyone can make a pumpkin if they want, and if not, you’ll all get to enjoy the creations!
3. Stock the break room with hot apple cider or pumpkin-flavored coffee
This seasonal perk of the office will make employees excited about the change in seasons! A hot cup of cider on a cold day is so cozy and could even improve productivity.
4. Plan an office outing
A fun outing to celebrate the fall season is a great way to boost morale. Take the whole team out to an apple orchard or pumpkin patch, so you all can bond while picking out fall goods. Here on the Central Coast, a great place to go is Avila Valley Barn.
5. Host a Family Day
Above all, the fall season is all about family, so make a point to celebrate your employees and their families! Plan a family day where employees can bring along their spouses and kids, and plan activities like going on a hayride at a local farm or jumping in crunchy leaves.
6. Thanksgiving Holiday
All you have to do to turn a regular potluck into a Thanksgiving celebration potluck is add a turkey! Ask staff members to bring a dish of their choice, and schedule a potluck close to Thursday, November 24th to celebrate our day of giving thanks.
7. Purchase group tickets to a local football game or other fall activity
What are some popular fall events in your town? On the Central Coast, you could buy tickets to a Cal Poly football game or performing arts show for the entire office, and arrange a fun group outing!
8. Fall Decorations
It’s always fun to mark the change of seasons with festive decorations. Get some colorful fake leaves, pumpkins, wreaths, or more at a local craft store, and get decorating! If your office has people who would definitely be into decorating their own space, you could also host a cubicle decoration contest.
