Cinco de Mayo on the Central Coast!
It’s Cinco de Mayo, and you know what that means… celebrating Mexican food & culture with enchiladas, salty margaritas, and maybe a sombrero. Where can you celebrate this holiday on the Central Coast? There are several events today at local restaurants where you can celebrate Mexican culture. Don’t forget to wear the colors of their flag: red, white and green!
Head out to Paso Robles to visit Barrelhouse, where today they are serving fresh tacos from Gypsy Flame at 2 pm. A cold beer goes perfectly with a great taco!
Cinco De Mayo Fiesta at Harry’s Night Club and Beach Bar
Harry’s in Pismo Beach has specials on Mexican lollipop shots, Micheladas, Margaritas, and Beer Buckets. The party kicks up at 9 pm, with senor/senorita cutouts for photos, giveaways, and Karaoke!
Celebrate the holiday for a good cause. At Fin’s Restaurant in Grover Beach, 100% of the proceeds from the Cinco de Mayo holiday will be donated to SLO Homeless Coalition to help support unattended youth. Chef Carlos will be serving out authentic Mexican meals from 5 – 9 pm. Try Chille Rellenos, Enchiladas, Chimichangas, Ceviche, Tacos, and more! It promises to be a good time, with great food, dancing, and music. Learn more about this event on Facebook.
Blast 825 Taproom
In San Luis Obispo, the new downtown restaurant/bar Blast 825 Taproom offers a great Cinco celebration! Try their special Carnitas Pizza and new Menu item, the Crunchy Cabo Chicken Wrap! Pull up a bar stool and stay for the ever talented Matt Nino on his guitar from 6-9 pm.
Sylvester’s is a mainstay in the San Luis Obispo area, and you can be sure that they bring it for Cinco de Mayo! There will be $2 Dos Equis all day today! Visit their restaurants in either Los Osos or Atascadero and try their delicious burgers with a cold beer.
We can’t wait to celebrate this awesome holiday in SLO. Have fun, and be safe. Hasta luega, amigos!
