What’s New with Vintage Paso
Paso Robles and Zinfandel wine have a long history that’s blossomed into a beautiful love story. As Paso’s first wine, Zinfandel has been here since the beginning—before the national recognition, and before the impressive titles. Beginning March 17th, we’d like to raise a glass to our region’s first wine with the celebration of Vintage Paso: Zinfandel Weekend. Over the course of three days, explore more than 140 weekend activities ranging from winemaker dinners and barrel tastings to artisanal food pairings and live music. Experience small town charm while drinking in world class wine at some of our favorite events of the weekend, highlighted below.
Before you spend three days drinking in Paso’s best Zinfandels, learn more about this jammy wine at the Zinposium Seminar on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the Paso Robles Inn ballroom. Lead by Peter Neptune, Master Sommelier, and featuring a panel of winemakers, you’ll taste through the heritage grape of Paso Robles at this Zin-focused seminar. With over 10 years of sommelier experience, Peter is known as one of the premier wine educators in the United States, boasting achievements such as Certified Wine Educator with the Society of Wine Educators, a Diploma in Wine and Spirits from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust in London, and French Wine Scholar credential with Highest Honors. Once Peter is done, you’ll be a Zinfandel expert yourself!
Z After Party
After the Zinposium Seminar, you’ll have time to stroll around Downtown Paso Robles or sit down for a nice dinner at one of the town’s many farm-to-table restaurants, located just across the street from the Paso Robles Inn. But don’t wander too far, because the Z After Party kicks off at 8:00 p.m. in the Paso Roble Inn Ballroom. Enjoy live music, a wide selection of desserts, and a special walk-around Zinfandel tasting featuring 20 Paso wineries. Some of the wineries you’ll get to taste from at the Z After Party include local favorites like Castoro Cellars, Pomar Junction Vineyard & Winery, Vina Robles Vineyards & Winery, Zenaida Cellars, and more.
The Wine Life – SLO Film Festival Screening
If you’d like to take some time to sit back and relax before getting caught up in the whirlwind of this wine tasting weekend, then this is the perfect event for you. Join us at 7:00 p.m. at Park Cinemas in Downtown Paso Robles for an exclusive SLO Film Festival Screening of Colin West’s film, The Wine Life. The film centers around West’s Australian adventures, showcasing wine making all over the country, sky diving, surfing, and more. You’ll even make it back to the Paso Robles Inn Ballroom in time for the Z After Party!
